Leon Krige; amazing photo art

My very resourceful friend, CG, told me about an exhibition of photographer and architect, Leon Krige, he attended (in Johannesburg). The photos are striking an truly amazing. 

I could not find more info on the technique, but according to CG a number of smaller photos are combined in a mosaic like fashion to form the very high resolution final product, as I said; truly amazing.

Apparently one can only fully grasp the detail and work that goes into these pieces when seeing it in real life. I for one would love to.

Art with your DNA ... literally

At first the idea seemed a bit strange, but I have to admit I find the concept of using your DNA as the basis of art clever and the result visually attractive.

That is what the US-based company, dna 11, will do - make art of your DNA, known as a DNA portrait. These come in a variety of formats and colour options.



Even though the results is beautiful, the process of collecting your DNA sample is reminiscent of a CIS scene :-) Ok, not really, it's actually quite simple; you request a kit, swab your mouth and send it off.

They also do beautiful Fingerprint Portraits.

Should any of my carpenter readers have some zebrano wood lying about - I would love two identical 'Bang!' tables. Pretty please.
