RE-create; repurposed furniture

Myself and a friend, L, found ourselves in Woodstock on Saturday morning, I should add - not at the Biscuit Mill, but rather across the road and came across the most marvelous little store; RE-create.

We were fortunate enough to meet the very friendly & creative Katie Thompson, the owner & brain behind RE-create. She was kind enough to take the time to explain the process and thinking behind some of her pieces, pieces that by the way you have to see to fully appreciate. Imagine a Hoover polisher converted into a floor lamp, and old suitcases converted into the most beautiful chairs (above).

The moment we left the RE-create shop, L and I decided that it is our mission to become best friends with Katie (and her receptionist Mom), not only because she is fab, but to ensure that going forward our respective abodes will always have a RE-create piece or two as part of the decor, something I recommend you do as well; having a piece (or two) as part of your decor.

See Katie's site for more info, and to subscribe to her (almost) monthly newsletter that her Mom has to remind her to write on a regular basis ;-)

Re-create and it's repurposed decor is sweet, how can you not like it ;-)
